Job Summary

Our client is seeking an experienced Estimator with specialized knowledge in commercial construction. The ideal candidate is a proactive individual who embodies a collaborative approach and demonstrates enthusiasm for contributing to the creation of high-quality commercial properties with optimal return on investment.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities for this role include:

• Analyzing project requirements and specifications to provide accurate cost estimates.
• Collaborating with subcontractors and suppliers to gather pricing information and ensure competitive bids.
• Reviewing and interpreting design drawings and project documents to identify project scope and requirements.
• Developing and maintaining relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to facilitate efficient communication and procurement.
• Preparing detailed cost estimates, including material and labor costs, for project bidding and budgeting purposes.
• Participating in pre-bid meetings and site visits to assess project conditions and requirements.
• Utilizing industry-standard estimating software and tools to streamline the estimation process.
• Providing timely and accurate responses to requests for proposals (RFPs) and bid submissions.
• Coordinating with project managers and other team members to ensure alignment between estimated costs and project budgets.
• Conducting regular reviews of project costs and identifying opportunities for cost savings and value engineering.
• Supporting project teams with cost-related documentation and reporting requirements.
• Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, pricing, and best practices in construction estimating.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• 7+ years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on commercial projects.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with stakeholders at all levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and experience with construction estimating software.
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and attend meetings as required.
