Senior Structural Engineer

New Rochelle, NY ยท Construction/Facilities

Perform tasks on projects necessitating extensive expertise in heavy/highway civil construction and structural engineering. Conduct structural analysis and design, encompassing reinforced and pre-stressed concrete design, steel design, timber design, deep foundations, gravity-based foundations, earth retaining structures, crane pick plan/rigging, bridge deck, and related aspects. Ensure design implementation adheres to all relevant codes, standards, and client specifications. Generate and scrutinize calculations for analysis, along with preparing engineering reports, memoranda, and design submittals. Create working/draft construction drawings for AutoCAD drafter. Fulfill additional responsibilities as dictated by business requirements.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution, with at least 10 years of pertinent experience. Bridge experience is mandatory. Preferably, a Master's degree with a focus on structural engineering. PE license (NY or NJ) is mandatory, with preference for NY. Proficiency in utilizing Structural finite element analysis software tools like MIDAS or RISA. Proficient working knowledge of Excel and Mathcad. Thorough working knowledge and application of key industry-accepted codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Specification and Construction Manual, NDS, AREMA, AASHTO, and AWS. Maintain membership in industry organizations (AISC, AWI, RCSC) and pursue continued professional development for PE License. Capability to organize and manage multiple tasks effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated success in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. Preferred experience working on projects in the NYC/Metropolitan area.

The salary range for this position is between $150,000 and $200,000, depending on experience.
