The Estimating Coordinator will play a crucial role in supporting the estimating department by reviewing project solicitation documents, performing quantity take-offs, and facilitating communication with subcontractors and vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review project solicitation documents and perform quantity take-offs.
- Solicit subcontractor/vendor quotations and distribute solicitation documents.
- Assist with and develop scope of work packages to define project work requirements.
- Evaluate subcontractor/vendor proposals to ensure accuracy in scope, quantities, schedule, inclusions, and exclusions.
- Prepare subcontractor/vendor price analysis sheets.
Skills Required:
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding construction documents.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with subcontractors and vendors.
- Experience in soliciting and evaluating subcontractor and/or vendor proposals.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (primarily Excel and Word).
- Familiarity with take-off software is a plus.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills are desirable.
Experience:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the construction industry with estimating experience.
- Experience with commercial or Government projects is advantageous.
- Experience with a construction material supplier and quantity take-off is preferred.
