Position Overview:
We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Estimator to join our team. The Estimator will be responsible for accurately estimating costs associated with construction projects across various sectors including industrial, retail, medical, and office spaces. This role requires a keen attention to detail, proficiency in cost estimating software, and a thorough understanding of construction methods and materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Estimation: Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on architectural drawings, specifications, and site visits.
  • Material and Labor Costs: Analyze project specifications and blueprints to determine material, labor, and equipment costs.
  • Bid Preparation: Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and prepare comprehensive bids and proposals.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis and value engineering to optimize project costs without compromising quality or safety.
  • Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and opportunities during the estimating process and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of estimates, bids, and change orders.
  • Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and project managers to ensure project requirements and expectations are met.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Proven experience as an Estimator in the construction industry, with a focus on industrial, retail, medical, and office projects.
  • Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, PlanSwift).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex documents and blueprints.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Estimator (CPE), Certified Construction Manager (CCM)).
  • Familiarity with LEED and sustainable construction practices.
  • Experience with design-build and negotiated bid projects.
