Primary Responsibilities Include (but not limited to):
- Comfortable managing $50MM worth of revenue
- Day-to-Day Management of a Team of 8 employees conducting AR, AP and other accounting functions
- Willingness to come into a fast paced environment and 'get hands dirty'
- After 6 months things will shift more into reporting, analysis and financial team oversight
- Perform all functions of a Full Charge Bookkeeper and Controller
- Perform all A/P management making sure bills are paid when required and recording these entries into the accounting system.
- Perform all A/R management and Collections
- Meticulously keep Accurate records of financial transactions and maintain general ledger
- Create financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Retainage, P&L, etc...) using Foundationaccounting software
- Manage basic cash flow of the business
- Job cost reports
- Process weekly payroll for all employees
- Complete Bank reconciliation
- Maintain the chart of accounts
- Calculate and track Overhead and Burden rates
- Track cash balances and cash flow forecasts
- Maintain proper insurance and workers comp requirements
- Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial records and Report Directly to Owner
- Assure financial plans are consistent with organizational goals
- Provide financial analysis tools to evaluate company ventures or special projects, programs, capital expenditures, products costing, etc. when necessary
- Manage commercial banking relationships to facilitate an appropriate credit resource under highly competitive terms
- Assure that assets are not awkwardly encumbered with personal guarantees or unrealistic commitments
- Manage security, computer services and building maintenance and supplies
- Issue timely and complete financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
- Calculate and issue financial and operating metrics
- Calculate and Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
- Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
- Provide for a system of management cost reports
- Provide financial analyses as needed, in particular for capital investments, pricing decisions, and occasional contract negotiations
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for annual audit
- Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Other duties as necessary
Specific Requirements:
- 2+ years of construction accounting **preferred**
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Higher
- Expert with collections and aging
- Comfortable with difficult conversations regarding the filing of liens on projects where GC's and Owners don't want to pay
